Middle school is the age when kids start doing things on their own, and it is exactly the age when schools quietly need more helping hands, not fewer. Volunteering with Henry PTA keeps you connected to your student’s world without hovering over it.
Why it matters
- Your student still notices. They may not run up and hug you in the hallway anymore, but kids whose families show up stay more connected to school.
- You get to know the school. Teachers, staff, and the other families in your student’s orbit stop being strangers.
- Every Hawk benefits. PTA volunteers power staff appreciation, school events, and programs that reach every student, not just their own.
- It is genuinely flexible. An hour at an event, a tray of treats for the staff lounge, or help behind the scenes from home: everything counts.
Get approved first
Leander ISD asks every school volunteer to complete a quick application before helping on campus. Complete the district volunteer application, allow up to two weeks for approval, and then sign up for whatever fits your schedule.
